About This Video

In this episode of Amigo Reviews, I put the Melody Wings Venus under the microscope—one of those “dark horse hype” IEMs that starts popping up on Reddit and Discord with a whole lot of praise for the price. The Venus is a $170 hybrid (10mm beryllium-coated dynamic for bass + custom BAs for mids/treble), and I walk through what you actually get, including the modular cable and the case, plus my usual notes on build, design, comfort, and the all-important tiny ear test (spoiler: my ears were happy, my wife’s were not). Sound-wise, I break it down the way I always do: bass, mids, treble, technicalities, and stage. The Venus has boosted-but-natural bass with real midbass punch, a slightly warm, mild V-ish midrange that still sounds very natural, and a treble that’s mostly smooth and airy—except for a bit of uneven “excitableness” on certain tracks that could fatigue treble-sensitive folks. I also cover output impedance effects (it gets warmer/darker with higher OI), then compare it to the Truthear Nova, 7Hz Divine, CrinEar Daybreak, and even the SoftEars Volume S. My takeaway: great value, great tuning for a lot of music, and I ranked it “This is Brilliant,” with that treble unevenness being the main asterisk.
