Following on from yesterdays config rack walkthrough we're now taking a look at the absolute beast of a 44u rack for our Yorkshire Smart Home Project. This has to be one of the nicest racks we've ever built and is absolutely packed with tech due to the huge spec of the project. This rack is now installed on site with the 44u termination rack. About This Video

In this video I walk you through an absolute beast of a build: a 44U AV rack for our Yorkshire refurb smart home project. We’ve actually got two 44U racks on this job—this one is the AV rack, and the other (already installed on site) is the network/termination rack with all the Cat6, speaker cables, and everything else coming back. I start at the bottom with the UPS, because on a rack like this power is a big deal. For me it’s not just about runtime—UPS is mainly about giving the rack clean, stable power. From there I go through the core kit: an Anthem AVR driving a 7.2.4 Bowers & Wilkins media room, Triad rack amps for the subs, and four Triad 8-channel amps handling multi-room audio (Triad IC83s, Episode/Weathers for the pool, and Triad OD26s outside). For distribution we’ve got a Pulse-Eight 16x32 audio matrix fed from the EA-5, and an HDANYWHERE MHUB S 8x8 video matrix that’s stackable if the client adds more zones later. I also show how we label everything with site/asset IDs for aftercare, why we use a managed PDU (remote reboots + temperature monitoring), and I spin the rack around to show the rear cabling, fiber uplinks, and why we had to bring the “anacondas” out the top on this one.
