About This Video

In this Instagram Live I jump on and walk you through a heating zones setup I’ve been grafting on over the Jubilee weekend. We get loads of questions about heating, so I show exactly how I build and prep the system before it ever hits site. This particular customer had an RF heating setup and, for about five years, they’ve had constant issues with stats dropping off the network—so the goal here is a cleaner, more reliable, properly documented install. I run through the way I board and label everything: multiple zone panels (8-zone and 4-zone boards), clear probe boxes to make it easy for the partner on site, and asset tagging on the stats so every device ties back to our project management records. I also show how the manifold controller, pump, and switch wires are laid out, why I use a 3‑pole/fan isolator (live, neutral, and boiler fire), and how the boiler connections land back into the Heatmiser panel. Finally, I demo how the room temperature probe wiring works—two cores into the stat terminals—then I prove it live with a heat gun so you can see the temperature reading climb. I also explain why I like using 4‑core 1mm flex for probe runs (and doubling cores to reduce volt drop), plus what I include in the handover pack like printed login cards and documentation for a smooth partner/client handoff.
