Hey friends—this moving vlog is basically me trying to relocate as a single foster mom in LA without losing my mind (or my budget). I found a moving company with a straight-up hourly price that includes taxes and fees—no weird add-ons—so that was a huge win. But of course, life happened: Mr. Potato Boy got a cold, daycare was a mess, and my “packing days” turned into me juggling boxes, a baby, and a fourth-floor walk with no parking space. Once I could start bringing things over, I did multiple car/van loads and immediately started baby-proofing the new place—outlet covers, doorknob locks, the whole thing. I also learned the hard way that “extra wide” baby gates online can be a total mistake, so I returned them and went to get gates that actually fit because I’m not playing around with stairs. By the end, it got hectic with movers and a clingy baby in a brand-new space, but my friends came through: gates installed, bookshelves anchored, table built, and we got unpacked fast so I could get the home safety inspected for foster care. We’re settled, we love it here, and yes… there’s a new little guest coming soon.
