Hey friends—this video is my quick (but real) foster baby update now that my boys have officially had birthdays since my last upload. Buster is two and Dash is one, and I’m sharing what life looks like right now as a single millennial foster mom in Los Angeles. I talk about what’s been going on behind the scenes too—starting a new job, getting back into a rhythm, and why I’ve had tons of footage but haven’t been editing like I want to. For Buster, we’re fully in “the twos”—big feelings, boundary pushing, and him trying to claim everything as his. He’s super outgoing at daycare, his language is wild (and yes, he can demand what he wants), and he’s obsessed with burrito bowls and guacamole—especially now that he’s mastered dipping chips. For Dash, I share how sweet and snuggly he is, plus our current struggle with sleep and why I’m having the doctor check for something physical like adenoids/tonsils. I also explain my no-pressure feeding approach (division of responsibilities), where I choose what/when and they choose how much. I also give a general case update while keeping everyone’s privacy protected, explain the three possible foster care outcomes (reunification with parents, reunification with family/fictive kin, or adoption), and clarify why the LA County “clock” doesn’t match Buster’s age because his dispo hearing happened later due to COVID delays.
