Hey friends—Day 1 of our foster family staycation is officially a go. In this vlog I’m packing up (aka overpacking on purpose) and doing the full travel-day shuffle as a single millennial foster mom in Los Angeles with two little ones: Buster (just over one) and Dash (almost two months). I share the real-life stuff: finishing chores, washing cloth diapers so I don’t leave them dirty, timing bottles and naps, and navigating that “no one to hold the baby while you load the car” reality. We head down to Laguna Beach (about an hour-ish away) and I’m just trying to keep everyone calm and asleep long enough to arrive. Once we get to the Airbnb, I give you a full tour—ocean views, Catalina Island in the distance, a fenced backyard, and how I set up our space to make it baby-friendly. I’m moving cleaning supplies out of reach, setting up a play area, and keeping sleeping arrangements safe and simple (I like us all in the same room). We end the day with a seaside dinner, a bath and bedtime routine for the boys, and yes—my glass of wine moment after a busy travel day. It’s peaceful, chaotic, and honestly so worth it.
