It’s Christmas Eve over here in LA, and I’m running on fumes—but in the best, real-life foster mom way. In this vlog I’m juggling daycare drop-off, laundry, trash, and a solid hour of writing because daycare is closed for 10 days (24th–4th) and I already know it’s going to be “potato boy on my hip” 24/7. I also share how I handle privacy: I call my foster baby “Buster” (or “Potato Boy”) and I don’t share his real name, case details, or anything about his parents—just our day-to-day. I show you what I’m doing for his very first Christmas: wrapping gifts (badly), setting up a few home gifts that will stay with my foster home, and putting together his stocking with the “something you want, need, wear, read” idea to keep it minimal. You’ll see some of the toys and clothes I picked out, plus sweet little moments like him discovering the Jellycat stuffies and going to town on avocado like the champ he is. We end the night with Japanese takeout, a tired single foster mama, and everything finally wrapped and ready for Christmas morning.
