This video is all about my foster baby’s first Christmas (Christmas 2020), and it’s honestly one of those “busy week at a time” moments I’ll never forget. I set him up to see his little Christmas surprise and let him explore at his own pace—because if you know, you know: babies are going to do what they want. He was way more interested in the wrapping, the random “trash,” and trying to go for things that are definitely not presents (yes… the TV), but watching him light up at the toys was everything. I also share a real-life check-in after the present chaos: we did calls and texts with family, said thank yous, and then he went down for a nap… after fighting me every step of the way. My plan for the night was simple—hang out, play with his new toys, and keep my little tradition of putting on a Christmas movie (even if he’s not really watching because he’s barely exposed to TV). Mostly, it’s a sweet, tired, grateful recap of our holiday and a little reminder that foster mom life is messy, joyful, and very, very real.
