About This Video

Hey friends—this vlog is my 10-month update on my first foster baby boy (I call him “Buster” as a nickname, because I don’t share his personal info, his case details, or anything about his family). I’m a single millennial in Los Angeles, and I’m sharing what real life looks like raising a busy little potato boy one day at a time—especially in a season where we’ve been socially distanced for basically his whole life. At 10 months, he is everywhere at once: crawling like a champion, pulling up on everything, climbing like a little mountain goat, and even standing for a couple seconds on his own. Teething has been wild—he went from two bottom teeth to about nine teeth total in what feels like no time, so we’ve had some middle-of-the-night wakeups. Food-wise, he’s eating purees and cereal still because he likes them, but he’s also eating table food and basically wants whatever I’m eating (with me being careful about things like honey, and I’m still nervous about giving straight peanut butter). I also share a little foster care perspective—how unpredictable timelines can be, why reunification is the goal, and how grateful I am to have a supportive agency, social worker, and a positive relationship with his bio family.
