About This Video

Hey friends—this day-in-the-life was one of those real, busy COVID days where the plan changes about 12 times. I’m vlogging as a single millennial foster mom in Los Angeles, and you’ll hear me talk through moving updates (I signed a lease on a two-bedroom—hooray!) while keeping my little teeny tiny pal “Buster” private and off camera. Between street sweeping, daycare drop-off, and me forgetting the diaper bag (classic), I’m juggling the kind of logistics that just come with foster mom life. I headed to IKEA in Burbank for my favorite clear storage bins (Samla), but they were out of stock—so I grabbed moving boxes instead and made a list for after the move. I also show a few baby/kid items I’m planning for the new place, like IKEA’s super simple $20 high chair (perfect for our balcony) and those extendable toddler beds that make me think ahead to possibly taking sibling sets. Then I pivot into Thanksgiving mode: I ordered dinner pickup because my current kitchen is honestly not set up for cooking, and I’m saving all my energy for packing. We wrap the day with cloth diaper laundry in a coin-op machine (one of the last times, thank goodness), plus a quick little baby update—teething is happening over here—and then it’s dishes, bedtime, and calling it a night.
