Happy Vlogmas Day 19! Today was one of those classic Western Sydney summer days where the humidity just wants to be the main character. Even with that sticky, sluggish feeling in the air, I still got a good chunk of sewing done for my Christmas dress, which felt like a proper win. In this vlog I chat through what I’m working on and I managed to cut out the pattern pieces and start on the first few steps, which is always the part that makes the project feel real. I’m using Butterick B6873 and a printed rayon in the ‘Native Flowers’ design, and I also mention the lightweight Birch fusible interfacing I’m reaching for. And of course, it wouldn’t be Vlogmas without advent—so I open today’s advent as well. Hooray! If you’re sewing along at this time of year too, my big takeaway is: even when the weather is fighting you, doing one practical step (like cutting) can keep the momentum going. Happy days! ^_^
