How exciting — we’re kicking off my House Block Quilt-Along with Block #1: The Original Homestead! In this video I walk you through making the very first house block for our 9-block sampler quilt, using the pattern sheet I’ve linked so you can sew right along with me. This one is such a classic “little house” shape, and it’s a really lovely way to ease into the series while still ending up with a block that looks super effective in a sampler layout. I share the general approach I’m using for the QAL (cutting, piecing, and keeping everything nice and tidy as we go), plus the tools and notions I’m reaching for at the machine and cutting table.
