About This Video

Happy Vlogmas Day 18! This one is basically me having a very successful Monday and ticking off the kind of list that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together. I’m out doing Christmas shopping (almost finished — which is honestly a miracle), I get my weekend vlog edited and uploaded, and I’m just generally in that “go, go, go” December mode where everything needs doing yesterday. The other big win for the day is that I finally start on my Christmas dress. I’m using the Elodie Wrap Dress by Closet Core Patterns as my plan, and I get all the paper pattern pieces prepped and cut out, ready to actually move onto fabric. I also mention a couple of other bits and pieces I’m looking at/using, like Butterick B6873, a printed rayon in ‘Native Flowers’, and lightweight Birch fusible interfacing. It’s not the glamorous sewing part yet — it’s the practical groundwork — but it’s the bit that makes the rest of the project go smoothly. Happy days, genuinely.
