I can’t believe we’re already at the end of fall, which means it’s time for my seasonal favorites—aka the 10 plants that truly impressed me over the past few months. This list is in no particular order, but I’m sharing the real reasons each plant “earned its spot,” whether that was bouncing back after a repot, suddenly taking off with new growth, or surprising me with blooms. And yes… there’s a good variety in here, even though I’ve been a little Hoya-heavy lately. In this video I walk through standouts like my Hoya linearis (that I repotted only one inch up and stuffed with a ridiculous amount of cuttings—screw it, it worked), plus a trio of Syngoniums that reminded me why I love the compact/mini growers. I also talk about what changed when I moved plants to different windows (like my Berry Illusion loving the frosted east bathroom window), why some Syngoniums start looking scraggly when they really want to climb, and how a simple switch to a clear pot helped me realize I was underwatering my Hoya curtisii. We also get into my fast-growing Manjula pothos and an Anthurium that’s giving me true “rapid fire” leaves—especially for me.
