About This Video

Hi everyone and welcome to yet another winter favorites video—this is where I pull the plants from my collection that didn’t just “make it” through winter… they actually impressed me. I don’t do these monthly because that feels like overkill, so I keep it seasonal. In this one, you’ll see a mix: plants that actively pushed new growth in the cold months, plus a few that were in rehab mode and still managed to stage a comeback. I kick things off with an import rehab win (my Aglaonema ‘Lotus Delight’) that kept pumping out leaves even before I could see a ton of roots spreading. Then we get into some Hoya highlights—like my variegated Hoya ‘Walliniana’ throwing its first ever peduncle (and it’s the longest one I’ve seen), and my Hoya ‘Mamasa’ blooming for the first time in under a year. I also share updates on my air-layered Philodendron ‘Red Anderson’ that didn’t skip a beat, my variegated “Million Hearts” Dischidia finally taking off again after an emergency repot, and big-plant winter surprises like my Ficus elastica ‘Ruby’ branching like crazy from the tilting method and my Raven ZZ pushing a new stalk right in the center. And yes—flat mite paranoia made an appearance, so you’ll see a little sulfur spray residue on a few leaves. Real life plant parenting, as always.
