I can’t believe it’s already time for another quarterly planty favorites video, but here we are—my top summer favorites, and yes, it was HARD to narrow down. In this one I’m giving you a growth update while we look at the plants that have been seriously impressing me this season for totally different reasons: insane new growth, surprise blooms, good repot behavior, and just straight-up resilience. We kick things off with my big, bushy Monstera deliciosa (nine vines in one pot, no pole—just my “janky support sticks” and plant velcro), plus a Hoya that bloomed for the first time and literally smells like caramel. Then I share the two Anthuriums that didn’t disappoint me this summer (because most of my others have been acting up after repots), and my Alocasia bambino that’s bouncing back from last year’s spider mite nightmare—with new corm babies making it look extra full. I also talk through my Calathea ‘Rosy’ being shockingly chill after a repot, my Philodendron micans taking a big trim like a champ, and my El Choco Red surviving multiple knock-overs (plus a semi-hydro reminder: don’t forget your LECA flushes and nutrients unless you want funky leaves).
