About This Video

Hi everyone—this one is a slightly chaotic, chasing-daylight unboxing because UPS dropped my AroidAsia box late in the day (and it was dreary, so the light was disappearing fast). I dig into how this shipment got to me, too, because it didn’t come through Planttopus US like my more recent AroidAsia orders. This one was forwarded from a different nursery out of Florida, and you’ll see me compare packaging changes (corrugated cardboard instead of the usual paper), talk about timing delays, and check each plant’s condition as I unwrap it. I unbox six plants total and give my honest first impressions—good, bad, and “we’re gonna have to rehab this.” The Aglaonema Lotus is an absolute cutie and arrived in surprisingly good shape, while the Hoya latifolia (formerly macrophylla) splash came in super dehydrated with basically toast roots (but I’m not panicking—Hoyas re-root easily). I also unbox a Scindapsus silver satin mutation (yes, I’m giving Scindapsus another chance even though I hate runners), plus a dark Anthurium Red Spider that took some shipping damage and needed a little root cleanup. Along the way I share my go-to root rot treatment (1 part hydrogen peroxide to 2 parts water) and what I’m watching for when overseas plants arrive cold, bent, or stressed.
