About This Video

Aloha, friends—today I finally did the greenhouse cabinet glow-up my IKEA cabinet has been begging for. The glass shelves were FILTHY (like… over-a-year-since-I-cleaned-them filthy), and with beneficial bugs arriving tomorrow, I wanted everything wiped down and reset ahead of time. I walked you through my top-to-bottom process: pulling plants out (and keeping them together because I’ve seen some bad-bug activity), vacuuming first, then doing a damp rag pass before going in with glass cleaner and paper towels. I also dealt with the hardest part: those stubborn hard-water rings—aka the reason I’m telling you right now, don’t be me… use coasters and cover pots. I also made a layout decision: instead of removing the top shelf (which would’ve been a total pain because of the light connections), I removed the bottom shelf since it only had one set of lights to unplug. I use magnets to mount my bar lights (humidity + adhesive is not a vibe), so cleaning is annoying because the lights hang down, but it’s still my favorite setup for flexibility. Once everything was clean, I started styling and reorganizing for taller plants—especially my anthuriums—using acrylic risers, a candle holder as a plant stand, and some cover-pot improvising to make the cabinet feel calm and cute again.
