About This Video

This day trip from Tokyo was… a lot, lol. I took a 3.5-hour bus out to the Fuji Shibazakura Festival and immediately got humbled by the logistics—voucher ticket struggles, basically no cellular service, and me not being able to translate signs. But once I could actually focus, it was worth it: the flowers were insanely pretty, Mt. Fuji was just right there, and the visibility was so good (even if it was kinda windy and then suddenly freezing after 2pm). Also: the photo spot lines were wild, so just mentally prepare for that if you’re trying to get the “iconic” shots. This vlog is also me being candid about travel burnout. The past few weeks of being on the road had me feeling physically and mentally drained, with a super low social battery and that annoying “I don’t want to waste time” pressure. I talk through how even “rest days” can turn hectic when you’re trying to squeeze everything in, and why I’m still figuring out what slow travel actually looks like for me. After the festival, I headed to Kawaguchiko Station for those unreal Mt. Fuji views, then ended the day with hoto noodles at Hoto Fudo—honestly everything my body and soul needed in that chilly weather. It was a hectic and stressful but fulfilling Mt. Fuji day, and I still can’t believe I saw Fuji in person.
