If you’ve ever tried to use a random hoodie (or, in my case, Danny gome) as a “travel pillow,” you get why I made this video. Living in Hawaii means basically every trip starts with a 5+ hour flight, so I finally decided to invest in better airplane sleep gear. I tested two of the most-hyped options online: the TRTL (which is honestly more like a cushioned neck brace) and the Cabeau Evolution S3 TNE (the big, plush one that straps to the seat headrest). I walk through packability, first impressions, and how each one feels when you actually put it on—then I do a very janky “flight simulation” in my car to mimic an airline seat. The TRTL is compact and gives solid neck support, but I found it restrictive, kind of fussy to reposition, and the fleece can get hot. The Cabeau takes up more space, but it compresses into a pouch, has mesh sides, and the headrest attachment helps prevent the bobble-head situation—especially if you don’t always get a window seat. My personal winner (for now) is the Cabeau because it stabilizes me to the seat and helps keep my back/spine straighter so I’m not broken at the end of the flight.
