Day two in Iceland was our Golden Circle day, aka the “multiple destinations along one circle of roads” situation that basically everyone does—and now I get why. We started the morning meeting up at Reykjavik Roasters (I don’t even drink coffee, I just like a plan), then hit Þingvellir National Park where it’s all history + geology + a truly chaotic amount of tour buses. From there we bounced through some classic stops and did a lot of “learn to layer” energy because it was cold-cold. My favorite stop was Brúarfoss (that unreal blue water is just… yes), and Gullfoss was the most dramatic because it’s massive. We ended up soaking at the Secret Lagoon, and I honestly found it more relaxing than the Blue Lagoon—still crowded, but it feels more natural, like you’re just in a pool in nature instead of an expensive half-amusement-park mission. Back in Reykjavik we did a Bonus snack run (this one is a legit big store), then tried traditional Icelandic food at Café Loki—including fermented shark, which I described as “a cheese” plus ammonia (so… do with that what you will). And then the night ended with actual northern lights on day two, which was honestly the highest possible high point.
