This was my first Korea vlog of the trip, and I finally crossed something off my bucket list: getting a personal color analysis in Seoul at Vic’s Color Lab. They walk you through different color spectrums and drapes and you can literally see how tiny shifts in tone make your skin look brighter (or… tired). I went in thinking I was probably warm-toned (because I’ve always leaned brown-black hair and warmer makeup), and I left learning my best seasons are Winter Bright and Summer Light. Also: orange is apparently not my color, and super saturated green isn’t really my friend either. After the appointment, I slow-traveled my way through Myeongdong—yes, it’s touristy and “shop till you drop,” and yes, crowded places drain me physically. I grabbed food at Myeongdong Kyoja (the kalguksu was lighter and more homey, not spicy like I’m used to), wandered to digest, and tried a honeycomb dessert while struggling to find a trash can for the sticky cup. My big takeaway: personal color analysis doesn’t “limit” what you can wear—it equips you. If black washes me out, I can offset it with bolder makeup. For me, paying for an hour session felt worth it because it’s knowledge I’ll use forever (but if you’re not into this stuff, save your money).
