I popped on for an hour(ish) for a spontaneous little chat because I missed my usual Friday stream when I was feeling poorly after a really bad IBS attack. I didn’t want to leave you guys without something, so this was very much a cosy “background natter” livestream—no fancy overhead setup, just me at my desk working on my WIPs while Steve pottered about (and got ready for his marathon sport session!). In this stream I worked in 50 Mythical Miniatures (hosted by Melissa at Winter 89 Colors / Colors 89—one of those, I always muddle it!) on the hippocampus page. I talked through how I’m choosing my colour palette (I literally Googled “fantasy seahorse” for inspiration), and I tested a purple blend for the fins and tail using my Ohuhu markers, then chatted about adding metallic/glittery accents later. I also shared a little “lesson learned” moment about blending: using acetate underneath can keep ink wetter and help blending sometimes, but it can also make ink spread in ways you don’t expect. We also had a lovely community catch-up—what everyone’s colouring, upcoming streams (like Yolanda’s), and a quick celebration because I hit 2K subscribers. It was relaxed, friendly, and exactly the kind of colouring company I love.
