Happy New Year, lovely people! In this livestream I carry on building the LEGO Ideas Home Alone house (bags 5–7) and, honestly, it’s exactly what I needed: a cosy chat while I get stuck into the next chunk of the build. I’m on Steve’s desk for this one (which felt really strange at first!) so I’m juggling the chat on my phone, adjusting the camera angle, and trying not to drop tiny pieces everywhere—while we catch up on New Year plans, sleep being all over the place, and Steve still sounding rough (negative covid test though, thankfully). Bag 5 is very “structure mode” as I build out more of the level with windows, an archway section, and a proper little red staircase (woo!). I talk through the fiddly bits, how I’m orienting pieces (especially when the instructions get a bit confusing), and why I like having the livestreams saved—because if you buy the set and get stuck, you can literally rewind and see what I did. Then in bag 6 we get the fun details: I build the Kevin minifigure (you lot helped me pick “happy Kevin”), his little sled, and start on adorable interior features like the fireplace with flames, a wreath, and tiny stockings. It’s those little magical details that make this set feel so satisfying to build.
