In today’s livestream I carried on with my LEGO Ideas Home Alone build and worked through bags 12 and 13 (and I was being realistic and didn’t push for bag 14). I had a much better camera angle because I stole Steve’s seat/desk set-up, so you could actually see what I was doing while I rattled through the instructions—while also having one of those days where my brain absolutely did not want to follow diagrams properly. We started by building up the back section, adding loads of windows (honestly… windows were the bane of my life today), and putting together the really fun collapsing shelf mechanism. Bag 13 was all about the cosy bedroom details: I built a clever four-poster bed (the little “cake icing” bits made me laugh, but they work so well as bedposts), a bedside table with an alarm clock sticker, plus the start of the bathroom with a sink and mirror sticker. I also chatted about how I keep stopping myself from building off-stream because I know you want to see the progress, and I shared that I’m not really buying much colouring stuff right now (more LEGO than anything!). By the end, we’d made solid progress: bedroom, back wall, shelves, and the bathroom beginnings—bit by bit, we’re getting there.
