In this video, I’m showing you how I blow-dry my 4C hair with the Revlon blow dryer paddle brush (the one-step blow dryer brush). I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I’m getting back into posting—and I wanted to come back with something practical. I start by showing what my hair actually looks like, because shrinkage is real with 4C hair, and I want you to see the texture and the dryness as-is (my hair was washed a few days earlier and left to dry without blow-drying). I section my hair (nothing sophisticated), finger detangle, then brush through before turning the tool on. The brush has three settings—cool, low, and high—and I used high. First, I’m not immediately “combing through” with it; I’m stretching/lengthening the hair, then I go through the section more thoroughly. You’ll see it gets my hair almost dry and more stretched, and I also note there’s only a little hair left on the brush. My biggest takeaway: heat is still heat. I didn’t use a heat protectant (because I don’t regularly use heat), and on high I could smell that “flat iron” type of scent—so please learn from my mistake if you’re going to do this regularly.
