Can what you gonna do? What you gonna do when it curls your hair? In this video I’m showing you exactly how I unravel my Bantu knots out on type 4 hair using Cantu mousse for heatless curls. I’m continuing from my previous video where I actually installed the Bantu knots with the mousse, and now you get to see the take-down step-by-step. I kept my Bantu knots in way too long (a whole week plus two or three days), and I’ll tell you straight: don’t do what I did. They were fully dry by day two, and leaving them in too long started creating little internal knots that made some sections harder to unravel. I also share the technique that helped me keep the curl definition: I unravel in a spiral motion and I separate 2 by 2 (not 3 by 3), because splitting too much makes me lose curl pattern. I apply shea butter as I take down to help maintain the curls and reduce friction (my whipped shea butter recipe is on my channel). The best spirals showed up in the front because I used smaller sections there, while the back was looser because my sections were bigger. And yes—I’m saying it again: I actually like this Cantu mousse. It smells good, made my hair soft, and it gave me shiny curls with no extra products.
