About This Video

Since YouTube has been stingy with views on my videos for the past months, I decided to do whatever I want now—and in this tutorial I’m showing you exactly how I do Bantu knots on my 4c hair using Cantu mousse. I start on washed hair (yes, washed two weeks ago—I was busy and I didn’t have time), and I walk you through my sectioning, detangling, and the actual twisting motion I use so the hair “takes” the curl. I also share the tools I’m using, including my favorite detangling brush and my rat-tail comb (both linked on my Amazon storefront). I’m very honest in this video about Cantu products too. I asked you all before and many of you said Cantu can be drying or cause breakage, but I personally like this mousse—the smell is nice and my hair felt soft when I used it. My main issue is the hold: when I used it for a perm rod set, the style didn’t last long, so I’m testing it again with Bantu knots for more length and volume (because 4c shrinkage is real). Most importantly: I do not take them down until they’re 100% dry, because if not, the style will flop and humidity will ruin the result. God willing, I’ll show the Bantu knot-out in another video.
