Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Following up on yesterday’s test, I’ve reviewed the footage from my Insta360 One R and made a final decision: I am officially skipping the DJI Christmas sales (0:52). While the DJI Action 4 (€180) and Action 5 Pro (€280) are incredible deals, my experiment proved that utilizing what I already have is not just possible—it’s actually liberating. The Technical Breakdown (1:55): Image Quality & Bit Depth: The 8-bit limitation of the One R means the image breaks down faster when overexposed compared to my 10-bit DJI Pocket 3 or Fuji XM5 (4:00). I accidentally overexposed the sky, and you can see the limits of the sensor there. Sound & Handling: The internal mics are decent at arm’s length, but the handling noise is a major caveat (2:55). Even a slight finger brush against the pinhole mics creates a harsh sound. The Motion Blur Problem: Without affordable ND filters for this older system, I’m forced into high shutter speeds, resulting in a very sharp, "staccato" look with no motion blur (7:02). The "Liberation Factor" (7:44): The biggest surprise wasn't technical—it was psychological. Vlogging with such a small, unassuming device made me feel significantly less self-conscious than using a larger camera or the DJI Pocket 3 (8:14). The Workflow (5:06): If I continue using this, I’ll need to be diligent about syncing external audio. Since I don't always have a free hand to "snap," I’ll be using the "Pick up Piper Pepper" method (plosive sounds) to sync my DJI Mic 2 in post (5:34). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Intro: The One-Take Vlog philosophy 0:52 - The DJI Christmas Sale Temptation 1:55 - Is the Insta360 One R still capable? 2:29 - Handling Auto Settings & Overexposure 2:55 - Sound quality and handling noise 4:00 - 8-Bit vs. 10-Bit Color Depth 5:06 - Audio Sync Tips (Piper Pepper Method) 7:02 - The ND Filter & Sharpness Struggle 7:44 - The Liberation Factor (Low-Profile Vlogging) 8:39 - Final Decision: No Upgrade Needed 9:31 - The 4:3 Open Gate Benefit 10:42 - Outro ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
