However, moving from a console to a Windows-based handheld comes with some technical caveats that can make or break your productivity breaks. The biggest game-changer I’ve discovered is the Hibernate Hack. While the standard "Sleep" mode on Windows handhelds often drains the battery and fails to resume games properly, switching your power button to Hibernate emulates the instant-resume experience of a retro handheld. This allows you to pick up Hogwarts Legacy or The Witcher 3 exactly where you left off, even weeks later, without losing progress or fighting with slow boot times. But there is a major trap to avoid: Always-Online DRM. I share my experience with The Division 2 and why games that require a constant server "handshake" effectively kill the portability of handhelds.
