Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ It’s January 6th, 2026, and with only two days left before Star Trek leaves Netflix, I’ve finally finished my rewatch of Star Trek: Voyager (0:05). After using a Gemini-curated list to navigate the series, I’m ready to give my final verdict on how it compares to The Next Generation (0:47). The Strengths of Voyager (1:53): One of the things Voyager did best was its natural approach to an inclusive crew. From Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine to B'Elanna Torres and Harry Kim, the character dynamics felt organic and story-driven rather than forced (2:28). The "Planet of the Week" Problem (3:02): While the series relies heavily on episodic "Monster of the Week" storytelling, I found that the episodes focusing on the Borg, time travel, and deep moral dilemmas were the true standouts (3:36). I also finally watched the series finale, "Endgame," for the first time—and it did not disappoint (4:09). TNG vs. Voyager (4:32): Ultimately, while Voyager is a solid series, I find TNG to be the more timeless recommendation for 2026. I also touch on my disappointment at missing out on Enterprise and Deep Space Nine before the licensing ends (5:25), and a quick shoutout to Scott Bakula’s Quantum Leap (6:01). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - The final verdict on Voyager 00:47 - TNG vs. Voyager comparison 01:53 - Inclusion and character dynamics 03:02 - The "Planet of the Week" struggle 03:36 - Standout episodes: Borg & Morals 04:09 - Watching the finale "Endgame" 04:32 - Why TNG holds up better 05:25 - Missing out on DS9 & Enterprise 06:01 - Quantum Leap nostalgia 06:45 - The future of Star Trek on streaming 07:06 - Outro & Milestone Goal ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
