Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ After finishing Chrono Trigger, I immediately jumped into Final Fantasy VI (or III, depending on your region) (0:00). I'm four hours in, and here are my first impressions! What I Love So Far: Gameplay and Story (1:04): Like other Final Fantasy games, the mechanics are great. The storyline is surprisingly compelling, with some unexpected "heavy stuff" that gives the plot real gravitas (1:17). Emotional Connection (2:19): Despite the pixel art from the 90s, the characters and the world are crafted so well—it's easy to get completely lost in the story and use the game to switch off my brain (4:01). The World (2:53): The setting is fantastic—a steampunk era where magic has largely disappeared, adding an intriguing dynamic to the plot. The Major Annoyance (The FF6 Difference): The one thing I truly dislike, especially after playing Chrono Trigger, is the randomized battle frequency (4:31). Frequency Problem (4:55): It feels like I get into a fight every 10 seconds! This might be intentional for grinding, but for a story-focused player, it's too much. Immersion Breaker (6:14): The constant switching to a battle screen and back, coupled with the frequency of fights, makes it impossible to memorize labyrinthine areas (7:40). I carve out short 10-20 minute gaming sessions, and this constant interruption makes quick gameplay difficult. Chrono Trigger's Advantage (6:37): Chrono Trigger handled this better by showing enemies on screen and starting the battle instantly without a screen switch, making the gameplay much easier for a casual player like me (8:10). Overall, the story and scope of FF6 are huge (9:09), and I'm excited to continue playing, despite the frequent interruptions. Question: If you've played FF6, does the battle frequency calm down later, or is this just the nature of the game? Let me know! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Starting Final Fantasy 6 (or III) 1:04 - First impressions: Gameplay and story are amazing 1:17 - The story has unexpected "gravitas" 2:53 - The intriguing steampunk setting 4:01 - The story is a great tool to switch off my brain 4:31 - The one thing I dislike: Randomized fights 4:55 - The fights are too frequent (every 10 seconds!) 6:14 - The frequent fights make memorizing the labyrinth impossible 6:37 - Comparing the battle system to Chrono Trigger (less stressful) 8:43 - Overall enjoyment: I'm looking forward to continuing 9:39 - Also considering Secret of Mana 10:01 - Outro and call to action ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
