You can book 1on1 coaching sessions. Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I had a very conscious thought about why I believe YouTube is a marvel of technology—an opinion that often goes against the grain of the creator community. As creators, we sometimes forget how truly amazing this platform is, both for the viewer and for us. From the consumer perspective, YouTube offers an almost unlimited library of free knowledge and entertainment, effectively acting as a free search platform and even free cloud storage for our private travel videos. From the creator perspective, the ability to earn money is a "cherry on top" or "sugar coating." I argue that creators often complain too much because they forget that success on YouTube is like running a freelance business: rates change, income fluctuates, and there are no guarantees. While YouTube needs creators to survive, it's vital that we view the income opportunity as a privilege, not an entitlement. We must remember that our initial passion and enthusiasm for a topic (interest generates interest) is what built the channel, and allowing the chase for numbers to turn creation into a grind is the quickest way to lose that passion and risk burnout. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - YouTube is a marvel of technology 0:35 - Consumer perspective: Vast library of knowledge and entertainment 1:50 - Consumer benefit: Free answers (How-to guides) 2:24 - Consumer benefit: Free storage for private videos (Mind-blowing service) 3:43 - Creator perspective: The monetization opportunity 4:35 - Why YouTube money is a "cherry on top" 5:23 - Success on YouTube is like a freelance business (It's not secure) 6:21 - Why creators complain too much 7:18 - The system: Why YouTube needs creators (It's a loop) 8:29 - The danger of forgetting why we started 9:03 - "Interest generates interest" (The key to growth) 10:04 - The risk of burnout when chasing numbers 10:50 - Final thoughts: Don't take the opportunity for granted 11:44 - Outro ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
