Being 170cm (5'6") and growing up as one of the only Asian kids in my area, I dealt with my fair share of bullying—from "friends" who would physically pick on me to the anxiety of walking through certain areas at night. For a long time, that fear stayed with me. But recently, I came across a perspective from a doctor/veteran that changed how I view my workouts: Anxiety is often linked to a lack of trust in our own physical capabilities. In today’s vlog, I’m getting vulnerable about my past and how Muay Thai sparring and kettlebell training have become "stress tests" for my mind. It’s not about being the toughest guy in the room or winning a street fight; it’s about the confidence that comes from knowing I can withstand pressure, that I can run if I need to, and that I’m no longer the defenseless kid I used to be. We talk about how modern "desk job" stress differs from the natural dangers our ancestors faced, yet our bodies still react the same way. The goal here isn't to turn this into a "gym bro" channel. For me, fitness is 100% about mental health maintenance. Just like brushing your teeth, doing a few pushups or jump roping for 10 minutes builds a habit that protects your mindset. If you’ve ever felt like anxiety is holding you back, I hope my story encourages you to start small, build a habit, and reclaim your confidence through movement. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00 - The Anxiety-Fitness Link 01:42 - Mental Health vs. Gym Bro Culture 02:40 - My Experience with Bullying 05:03 - Sparring as a Stress Test 06:45 - The Confidence of Cardio 07:21 - Evolution of Modern Stress 09:34 - Training the Subconscious 12:20 - Body Maintenance After 40 13:22 - Building Habits That Last 14:50 - My Personal Routine ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
