Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I’m finally back after a short break to recover from the German Advertising Film Awards (Deutscher Werbefilmpreis). Being on the grand jury and presenting the award for the Editing category was an incredible honor, but it was also one of the most exhausting experiences of my career as a freelance film editor. In this video, I’m giving you a recap of what it felt like to stand in front of 800 people, blinded by spotlights, and trying to remember a speech I’d only practiced in my hotel room. The "adrenaline spike" on stage is unlike anything else. Despite my daily practice here on YouTube, I’ll be honest: I made mistakes and stumbled over my words. But here’s the important part—because of the power of repetition, I didn't panic. I was able to laugh it off, rely on my keywords instead of reading off a script, and maintain a cohesive flow. While I completely forgot my last three sentences in the heat of the moment, the "YouTube tools" I’ve built allowed me to stay authentic and approachable rather than freezing up. I truly believe that starting a YouTube channel—even if your videos stay private—is the ultimate professional development tool. By lowering the barrier to entry and pushing "record" every day, you train your brain to communicate clearly under pressure. Whether you're speaking to ten people in a meeting or hundreds on a stage, the confidence you build through regular practice is a safety net you can always rely on.
