Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I have an unfortunate update on my retro gaming journey: while I love Final Fantasy IX, I cannot recommend playing the PS1 version on the Anbernic device because I hit a disc-switching bug on Disc 2 (0:35). But the good news is, I found an even better time-sink for quick work breaks: Chrono Trigger on the Super Nintendo! I've already played four hours and highly recommend it, especially for busy people who game in short bursts. Chrono Trigger Wins for Busy Gamers: Story & Mechanics (1:21): The time-travel story is engaging and approachable. No Loading Screens (2:43): Unlike the Final Fantasy series, battles in Chrono Trigger start instantly on the same screen (no fade-out/loading into a 3D battle arena). No Random Encounters (2:43): You see the enemies on the map, allowing you to choose whether to fight or run around them, giving you control over the pace of your 10-minute break. This game is the perfect form of escapism—a fun, quick break that helps me re-energize and return to my freelance editing work refreshed (4:33). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - The disappointment: Final Fantasy IX disc-switching bug 0:35 - Why I can't recommend the PS1 version (The error) 1:00 - The replacement game: Chrono Trigger (SNES) 1:21 - Initial impressions: I love this game! (Time travel story, unique mechanics) 1:55 - Chrono Trigger's graphics and menu style 2:19 - The biggest advantage: Chrono Trigger vs. Final Fantasy battle system 2:43 - No loading screens and visible enemies 3:32 - Why this makes the game perfect for short breaks 4:33 - Using gaming as re-energizing escapism during work downtime 5:07 - Getting four hours of play time during work breaks 5:34 - Outro and call for subscription ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
