Contact me via email ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Mental health is a vital topic, and while I'm not a therapist, I want to share the personal tools I use to achieve a full brain reset (0:00). The key is using "escapism" NOT to ignore problems, but to actively refresh your mind so you can return to your issues with a new, energized perspective (1:52). My Personal Mental Health Tools: 1. Hobbies That Demand Presence (2:40): Martial Arts (Muay Thai/Boxing): If you're not fully present and focused, you get hurt (3:30). This forced focus completely clears the mind. Motorcycling: The need to pay attention to the road clears all other mental clutter (3:10). Team Sports/D&D (14:09): These activities force your brain to focus outward, stopping the negative internal loop. (Contrast: Jogging/Weightlifting often allow the brain to continue worrying) (13:34) 2. Tools for a Phone Detox (4:16): The phone is a source of work notifications, superficial connections (5:13), and harmful doomscrolling/rage bait (6:34). Retro Gaming (4:16): Switching to a handheld device gets you away from notifications and replaces passive consumption with active engagement (7:37). Retro gaming is perfect for short, 10-minute brain resets (14:50). Dedicated Camera (8:48): Using a physical camera for photography breaks the connection to the phone and its distractions. Fictional Audiobooks (10:11): Listening to non-self-improvement fiction (like Harry Potter) switches off the 'work mode' and allows the brain to fully reset to zero (11:07). Find an activity that you can dive into fully to reset your brain—it's not about ignoring, it's about preparation (12:21). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Normalizing the talk on mental health 1:52 - Defining healthy escapism (reset, not ignore) 2:40 - Tool #1: Activities that demand presence (Muay Thai/Motorcycling) 4:16 - Tool #2: Getting away from the phone 5:13 - The illusion of connection and work notifications 6:34 - The problem of doomscrolling and rage bait 7:37 - Retro gaming replaces consumption with active engagement 8:48 - Using a dedicated camera for a physical distraction 10:11 - Why I prefer fictional audiobooks (Harry Potter example) over learning podcasts 11:07 - The goal: Resetting the brain to zero 12:21 - Summary: Escapism for the sake of resetting 13:34 - Why jogging/weightlifting doesn't work for me 14:09 - Team sports/D&D as good reset tools 14:50 - Retro gaming is the perfect 10-minute reset tool 15:11 - Outro and call for comments ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
