While I’ve been testing my Insta360 One R, a trip to a crowded supermarket for B-roll made me realize that even "small" cameras can feel massive when you’re feeling self-conscious. The Public Vlogging Struggle (1:14): Even though the DJI Pocket 3 is my MVP for the main channel, I still feel exposed using it in public (1:42). In this video, I talk about the "paradox of size"—how the Insta360 One R felt too conspicuous in a crowded store, leading me to crave the ultra-small form factor of the DJI Neo or Insta360 Go (2:43). Vlogging in Germany: Privacy & Culture (5:33): One of the biggest hurdles I face is filming in Germany. Unlike what I see from vloggers in other countries, German privacy laws are incredibly strict (6:05). You are not allowed to film people without consent, and the culture is very protective of privacy. This adds a layer of stress to public vlogging that makes discrete gear feel like a necessity rather than a luxury (6:33). Hardware Quirks & Reality Check (4:41): I also touch on some technical frustrations, like accidentally switching to photo mode on the modular screen (4:41) and the lack of 10-bit color on the Insta360 system (5:04). However, as a freelancer navigating a tough 2025, I have to be realistic: I don't have the funds for a new camera right now (7:46). "Good enough" has to be the goal. I’d love to hear from you: Do you use ultra-small cameras like the DJI Neo or Insta360 Go? Does the size actually help you feel less self-conscious? ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Holiday Sales & GAS 1:14 - Public Vlogging Anxiety 2:07 - The Supermarket Test 2:43 - Dreaming of Smaller Cameras 4:08 - Hardware Quirks 5:33 - Vlogging Laws in Germany 7:46 - The Reality Check: Budget Constraints 8:08 - Community Question & Outro ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
