This topic is long overdue. I’ve been talking to people about LEGO eventually becoming a publicly traded company for three or four years, and I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more videos out there starting this conversation. In this video, I lay out the signs I’ve personally been seeing that make me believe LEGO could end up on a stock exchange—yeah, even as soon as 2026—and I’m asking you guys to tell me what I’m missing. I go down my list: the excess inventory and the weird “glut” moments like retired-ish product showing back up (the Atari console wave on Amazon is a perfect example), new manufacturing plants popping up (like Virginia) to strengthen infrastructure, and internal restructuring that sounds like a company tightening up operations. I also talk about things that don’t feel very “family company” anymore—like LAN members needing to sign NDAs—and the increasing control LEGO seems to want over online selling, from Amazon gating to sellers having issues even on Walmart. Finally, I touch on LEGO acquiring the Discovery Centers from Merlin, which is another big move that makes me think they’re positioning the business differently. I’m not saying it’s guaranteed—but the pattern is worth watching.
