It really is good to be back, and I’m telling you right now: this is the most exciting GWP schedule I can remember. In this video I’m looking at current and upcoming end-of-year LEGO GWPs and what they mean for us as resellers—because you’ve got to look to the past before you look to the future. I start with the Lord of the Rings GWP (40693) as the perfect example that all GWPs are not created equally. I remember watching it hit insane numbers (around $200), and even with it settling down, it shows how powerful the right promo can be. From there I get into what I’m seeing on eBay (not Amazon today) and why stacking promos correctly matters heading into Q4. I talk about the Sonic GWP—how I missed it due to delayed gift card emails, why reseller supply keeps prices from going absolutely nuclear, and why I’m fine paying around $40 now (and I wouldn’t be shocked to see it climb later). I also cover the $40 Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle GWP, the Jack Sparrow compass promo (my wife’s take is brutal), and a Star Wars GWP I’m just not feeling—plus an upcoming Star Trek TNG shuttle pod that a lot of people are going to go bonkers over. Bottom line: plan your buys, stack smart, and don’t sleep on theme-locked GWPs.
