About This Video

I took a little break from making LEGO videos and I’ve been immersing myself in Pokémon cards—specifically PSA 10s—and I wanted to bring you along for where my head is at. The real reason I’m doing it is my son. I introduced him to PSA grading, and now he’s starting his own little PSA 10 collection, so this turned from “reseller curiosity” into something we’re doing together. In this video I explain why I’m not chasing every Pikachu or Charizard and why I picked Squirtle as my lane. I thought it was 38 cards… turns out it’s closer to the 60+ range, but it’s still manageable and I’m about halfway there. I also talk about how weird pricing gets in the PSA market—like people using “low pop” as an excuse to slap insane prices on cards that aren’t even chase cards. I compare a high-pop Pokémon Center stamped Squirtle selling for hundreds versus what I call the Squirtle “Nirvana” card with a much lower population selling for less, which makes zero sense to me. Then we end with a live eBay auction with my son for a population-one PSA 10 Squirtle. I go in with a big number, still lose, and it’s a perfect example of how aggressive this niche can get—and why I’m considering pivoting harder into first edition Squirtles and cold storage plays.
