On today’s episode of Whiskey Tiers, I’m cracking into the first release of the Knob Creek Blenders Edition (first edition), which dropped around March/April 2026. It’s a 10-year-old “sweet bourbon blend” coming in at 106 proof, and I paid $54—so yeah, on paper that sounds almost too good to be true. I walk through what the bottle is claiming (confectionary notes, vanilla, warm oak, plus that little flavor wheel), then I go straight into the nose both out of the bottle and in the glass. Out of the glass, it gets way fruitier than I expected—fruity charred oak with a hint of vanilla hiding in the back. On the palate, it’s an absolute fruit blast up front, and I mean Fruit Loops / Fruit Roll-Up levels of sweet, candied fruit. Then it transitions into oakiness and finishes with a melted vanilla ice cream vibe that lingers. My best description? You’re eating Fruit Loops in milk with a charred oak wooden spoon. It’s not super viscous and it doesn’t have a ton of deep “old musty” character, but for $54 it does what it’s trying to do really well—so I land it solidly in B tier, and I’d say it’s definitely worth grabbing if you see it.
