About This Video

The last couple of days I’ve been using the TTartisan 75mm f2 on my Lumix S1, and I honestly think it’s a great lens. In this video I walk through real sample footage and talk about the stuff that actually matters if you’re trying to build a lightweight, budget-friendly setup: image quality, build, and whether it’s worth the money. I’ve mostly been a 35mm guy on full frame, but I wanted to challenge myself with a longer focal length—and this one surprised me. Pretty much everything I shot was wide open at f2, and it stays quite sharp while still looking clean without feeling sterile or clinical. The bokeh is a big part of why I like it: you get shallow depth of field, but the image still has depth and a bit of “3D pop,” instead of that cheap green-screen separation some budget lenses give you. Build-wise it feels robust, the clicked aperture ring helps avoid accidental changes, and the best part is the weight—around 300g—so it balances way better on heavier bodies like the S1 when I’m shooting handheld. At $199, I think it punches way above its price, and paired with the TTartisan 40mm f2 you’ve got a seriously solid starter kit for under $400.
