About This Video

Once in a while you just want a fresh Windows install that actually works—no drama, no extra requirements, and no forced Microsoft online account. In this video, I walk you step-by-step through doing a clean Windows 11 install using the official Microsoft ISO (that’s my preferred option), then I use Rufus to create a bootable USB that lets me bypass the usual Windows 11 hardware checks and the Microsoft account requirement during setup. All you need to start is a USB flash drive with more than 8GB, plus a bit of time to download the ISO. I show you exactly where to download Windows 11 from Microsoft, how to grab Rufus, and which Rufus checkboxes to enable—like removing the RAM/TPM checks and removing the requirement for an online Microsoft account. After that, I boot from the USB (often F11/F10 depending on your PC), do a custom install, delete partitions (careful—this wipes everything), and install Windows 11 Pro. I finish the setup using “I don’t have internet” and “continue with limited setup,” then once Windows is up, I connect to the internet and do my usual first tweak: switch to dark mode because the default is too whitey.
