NAT Traversal has always been one of those headache configurations—port forwarding, firewall rules, public IP concerns… the list goes on. But today, I was honestly surprised at how Ruijie made it incredibly simple. In this video, I’ll walk you through how NAT traversal works on a Ruijie router, why it’s far easier than traditional port forwarding, and how you can set it up in just a few clicks. No complicated rules. No long configs. Just plug, enable, connect. If you’re exploring networking solutions or managing remote access, this one is worth watching. About This Video

In this video I’m testing a Ruijie router (RG-EG105G V3) and the feature that honestly blew my mind: NAT Traversal. If you’ve ever dealt with the headache of port forwarding, firewall rules, and worrying about public IPs just to reach a device remotely, you’ll understand why this is a big deal. I unbox it, power it up, plug my internet uplink into the WAN port, and connect my NVR to the LAN—then I jump straight into setup using the Ruijie mobile app. What surprised me is how fast the router detects my wired client (my CCTV NVR) and basically “prepares” NAT traversal for it. I just go to Clients, tap the NVR, enable NAT traversal for HTTP, and boom—the tunnel is created successfully. Ruijie generates a cloud IP and port (not my public IP), and I can open the NVR web login right away. The takeaway: for web services like NVRs that you normally access via HTTP, this is a super clean way to get remote access without messy manual configs—just plug, enable, connect.
