NAT traversal is a way to access a device behind your network without doing the usual port forwarding and complicated firewall rules. In my test, Ruijie creates a tunnel for my NVR so I can open its web login remotely. It’s meant to streamline remote access, especially for web services running on HTTP.

How do you enable NAT traversal on the Ruijie RG-EG105G V3?

I did it from the Ruijie app: add the gateway by scanning the QR code, then go to Clients and select the wired device (my NVR). From there, I enabled NAT traversal and selected HTTP. After that it says “creation succeeded” and I can tap to open the device.

The interesting part is it’s not my public IP address. Ruijie generates an IP and port within their cloud dashboard, and that’s what you use to open the device. You can also copy the link and send it to someone if needed.

Yes, that’s one of the ideas I mentioned—if you’re a network administrator with a bunch of devices, having them managed in one dashboard is the goal.
