About This Video

In this video I unbox and install the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3, and I’m telling you right now—this is by far the best tiny dash camera you can buy out there. I previously owned the Mini 2, so I can clearly show you what’s upgraded: the Mini 3 now sits horizontal (the Mini 2 was vertical), it has a built-in polarizer (no need to buy a separate one for those bright reflections), and it finally upgrades to USB-C power instead of the older micro-USB style. I also walk you through my simple install behind the rearview mirror—pull the old Mini 2, reuse the mount, plug it in, move the SD card over, and you’re basically done. The real beauty for me is I don’t need a screen at all because I can connect it straight to my phone using the Garmin Drive app. Pairing is quick: hold the button until it flashes blue, add it in the app, connect Wi‑Fi, align using live view, and it starts recording right away. If I need footage, I just pull it over Wi‑Fi to my phone—no SD card swapping. Yes, it’s expensive, but for me it’s totally worth it.
