Whisky hype often revolves around limited releases, high prices, or bottles that disappear overnight. This video is the opposite of that. In this list, I’m sharing the five best core range whiskies I tried in 2025 — whiskies that are part of a distillery’s standard, ongoing range, are widely available in most countries, and aren’t priced into the stratosphere. Whether you’re watching this video today or years from now, these are whiskies you should still be able to find on shelves. The list includes: 01:40 - A standout peated single malt from an unexpected whisky-making country 02:32 - A barrel-proof bourbon that genuinely impressed me 03:25 - Two excellent Campbeltown single malts with very different personalities 05:39 - A bold, high-strength sherry bomb that has earned permanent legend status As always, taste is subjective — these are simply the best core range whiskies I personally tried in 2025, balancing flavour, availability, and value. 👉 If you’re tired of chasing limited releases, this list is for you. About This Video

Whisky hype loves a limited release—high prices, tiny allocations, and bottles that vanish overnight. This video is the opposite. I’m walking through the five best core range whiskies I tried in 2025: distillery staples that are intended to stay on shelves, are broadly available internationally, and aren’t priced into the stratosphere. The goal is simple—whether you’re watching now or five years from now, you should still be able to track these down and enjoy them. I cover a standout peated single malt from an unexpected whisky-making country (Lio Distillery STR Red Wine Casks), a barrel-proof bourbon that genuinely impressed me (Elijah Craig Barrel Proof), and two Campbeltown single malts with very different personalities (Kilkerran 12 Lightly Peated and Glen Scotia 15). I finish with a permanent legend sherry bomb that I keep coming back to—Glenfarclas 105—cask strength, but still easy drinking. I also flag an honourable mention that shows even “core range” has limits: GlenGlassaugh Torra, which I loved, but the distillery has been mothballed. Taste is subjective, of course, but this list balances flavour, availability, and value—exactly the stuff I care about when I’m recommending bottles you can actually buy.
