Cape Byron Viognier Cask Whisky Review

Aged in a combination of ex bourbon and Australian Viognier wine casks from Inkwell Wines, this limited release from Cape Byron Distillery is something else. I review this whisky and share my tasting notes, before losing the glass… There are only 1,150 bottles of the Viognier Cask released, so if you want to try this dram you’ll have to get in quick. It would make for a great Christmas present for the whisky lover in your life. Cape Byron Distillery is co-created by one of Scotland’s most awarded Master Distillers, Jim McEwan and Cape Byron Distillery Co-founder and distiller Eddie Brook. There’s a complexity to the whisky that comes from Jim’s lifetime of experience, and a unique note that comes from being aged in Australian rainforest.
