About This Video

This week’s video is a proper catch-up chat between me, Jeff and Ross—equal parts hobby plans, Warhammer video games, and the usual “why does my body hurt when I’ve done basically nothing?” energy. We end up down a rabbit hole on modern games being obsessed with online service models, and how much I miss a really strong, story-driven campaign. I talk about why Gears of War still nails that chunky, satisfying feel (and honestly, it’s what Space Marines should feel like), and I give my slightly spicy take on Space Marine: I think it’s an amazing Warhammer game… but not necessarily an amazing game. On the hobby side, I’ve been painting up the Darktide board game heroes (yes, the video game tie-in to the board game tie-in… it’s wild), and Ross has been cracking on with his first ever Death Guard. We chat airbrushing, contrast paint strength (Gut Ripper Flesh is absolutely brutal if it’s been sat a while), and why sometimes “quick and grimy” is the best way to do Nurgle. I also ramble about painting a split-scheme Deathwing/Penitent Blades force and how masking, chipping, and being overly ambitious can turn a simple plan into a time sink—classic.
