About This Video

I went to the UK Games Expo and had a genuinely lovely old time… and then immediately noticed the elephant not in the room: where was Warhammer? I’ll get into that, but first we do what we always do at a show—get distracted by cool hobby-adjacent stuff, bump into people, and collect the kind of stories you only get in a massive hall full of tall blokes with beards and glasses. I even ended up being “Nick” for the episode thanks to some top-tier mistaken identity chaos, and I was handing out my little Battle Brother minis like sweets. On the hobby side, I got properly fascinated by some non-Warhammer design and engineering. The Wayland booth’s Gundam push-fit kit was a perfect example of “this is just fun to build,” and it highlighted (again) how much Games Workshop sprue numbering can be… a journey—especially when you go back to older vehicle kits with missing or obscured numbers. We also chat through Space Marine Heroes and how different those sprues feel, plus the general joy (and danger) of hobby FOMO. And then, yes: we talk about the missing Games Workshop presence at UKGE—why it felt odd, what that might mean, and how the rest of the expo still delivered a great time even without the big Warhammer mothership on the floor.
